Every family carries names further back than memory reaches.

You bring the research your family has already done: the names, the dates, the albums, the letters, the family tree someone spent years putting together. I turn it into a family history book, a family website, or both.

I built the first one for my own family, the Shermans of Bimini, Bahamas. Twelve children, one family, and more names than any of us could keep straight at the reunion table.

the short version

Most services give you one piece of your family's story. I build the whole thing, and you keep all of it.

Your family does the digging. I do the rest.

You've already found the names, the dates, and the records. What's usually missing is the time and the know-how to turn a folder of research into something the whole family will actually open. That's my part: organizing it, writing it, and designing it.

Built from your family's own records.

Memory apps only capture what one person remembers. Your book and website are built from the documents, photos, and research your family hands me. Nothing is guessed or made up to fill a gap.

A book and a website, made to match.

The book sits on your coffee table. The website reaches the cousins three states away and the grandkids who'll never hold the book. Same story, same look, built side by side.

It's yours. All of it.

There's no app you have to keep paying for to see your own family. When I'm done, the book, the files, the website, and the domain are in your family's name. The yearly care plan is there if you want it. If you don't, you take every file with you.

this part matters to me

Living family stays private.

Your ancestors' stories can be shared with the world. A living relative's name, photo, or details stay behind a family sign-in unless that person says yes. On your family's site, it looks like this:

Sybil (Sherman) Black
1927 – 2001 · Alice Town, Bimini, Bahamas
Open to the public
Family sign-in required

That's not a limitation. It's the point.

Every year after

Family Care Plan$200 / year

Hosting, the private family sign-in, and one yearly update: new births, passings, photos, records, and any research your family has added since.

What I don't do. I don't do genealogy research. Your family brings the names, dates, and records. If there are gaps, you can keep researching on your own time, and I'll add what you find at your next yearly update.

What counts as a line? One branch of the family. If your great-grandparents had twelve children, each child and their descendants is one line.

A twelve-line Family Archive
$1,500 + (6 × $150) = $2,400
with a Family Website ($1,200), less $300 = $3,300

Printed copies. Every book comes as a print-ready digital file. Each household can order its own copies straight from the printer I recommend, shipped to their door.

Skipping the care plan? The website price stays the same. You get every file and keep your web address. The private family sign-in only runs on my hosting, so it doesn't come with the files. If you want an update later, it's $150 each time.

Other ongoing costs. Your family's web address is about $11 a year, paid directly to the registrar in your name.

Paying. Half to start, half on delivery, by PayPal invoice.

The Sherman family site

This is my own family, built the way I'd build yours: the origin story from a primary-source essay written by Aubrey B. L. Sherman Sr., a branch-by-branch family tree with most branches locked, our reunion recap, and one branch opened all the way down. That branch is mine, through my great-grandmother Sybil, born in Alice Town, Bimini, Bahamas.

hi!

I'm Kiah.

I'm the eldest great-granddaughter of Sybil (Sherman) Black, one of Brooks and Melvenia Sherman's twelve children. My background is in web design, digital marketing, and hospitality, which mostly means I'm good at taking a pile of complicated things and making them easy for people to enjoy.

I started this because my own family's story was scattered across a dozen houses and three countries. Now it's in one place, and my kids can read it. I'd like to do the same for yours.

people usually ask

Questions

Our photos and papers are a mess. Is that a problem?

No. That's where almost every family starts. Send what you have, however it's sorted, and organizing it is part of the work.

Do you do the genealogy research?

No. Your family brings the research already done: the family tree, names, dates, and any records you've found. I turn it into the book and website. If you find more later, I'll add it at your yearly update.

How long does it take?

Most books take three to four weeks once your photos and documents are in hand. One to two weeks in, I'll send you the design, story timeline, and layout to approve, then spend the remaining weeks finishing the book. Larger projects take longer, and I'll give you a date before we start. If I ever need more time, you'll hear it from me in advance.

Who owns the finished work?

Your family does. You get every file, and the website and its address are registered in your name.
